About Norcal UVSA Camp Horizon XVI

Camp is a three-day, two-night weekend retreat in the summer that has activities designed to help the members form bonds that lead us to a deeper sense of community. The weekend is filled with team-oriented activities that help foster a space for attendees to form meaningful relationships in the three day, two night retreat, furthering our values as a communal organization. Camp is typically held at either county or state parks. This year camp will be located at Arroyo Seco Campground on August 1-3, 2025.

Theme Description

At first glance, AFK means Away From the Keyboard — but for this camp, it’s so much more.

It’s a call to step away from the noise, the pressure, the constant doing and into something slower, softer, and more intentional.

AFK is about choosing to be present.

It’s about Awakening to who you are beneath the distractions.

It’s about giving yourself the space to Flourish — not by comparison or expectation, but by simply growing in your own direction.

And it’s about Kindling something lasting: joy, purpose, connection — a spark you carry home and keep alive long after camp ends.

AFK is where we pause to remember ourselves.

And sometimes, that’s the bravest thing we can do.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at campregistration@norcaluvsa.org if you cannot find an answer to your question.

NorCal Camp will take place from August 1st to August 3rd, 2025 (3 days; 2 nights) at Arroyo Seco Campground

47600 Arroyo Seco Rd, Greenfield, CA 93927 (Arroyo Seco Campground - Google Maps )

We offer a wide range of activities such as arts and crafts, sports, swimming, nature walks, and more!

CAMPING, the old fashioned way! We’re going to set down tents together in the wilderness, admiring Mother Nature while roasting marshmallows over the campfire. No glamping!

Of course! That being said, internet reception will probably be shaky and there won’t be a reliable power source for you to charge your device. You’ll definitely want to bring a portable charger with you.

Nope, you gotta do your business out in the bushes… just kidding! There will be restrooms with flushable toilets and sinks available. Coin showers are also available too. Be sure to bring your own toiletries though!

Our Food Committee will prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner for all campers! Food will be accommodated with your camping fees.

You can! Just make sure you seal it properly or else you’ll likely attract some form of unwanted animal guest to your tent. Or even worse, you might accidentally attract a horde of ants to your tent! (Based on a true event... the horror.)

Our Camp Horizon staff will be responsible for ensuring the safety of all attendees during our camping trip. If there is an active emergency during camp, look to the nearest staff member for further instruction.

A detailed packing list will be sent out closer to the start of camp so keep an eye out for an email!

Last day of refunds will be on July 16th, if you have any questions please fill out our support form, and we will get back to you ASAP.

Our Camp Logistics Committee is in charge of coordinating transportation amongst attendees, however, we cannot guarantee transportation. We encourage carpooling rather than driving solo, as parking is limited at the campsite. Please fill out this form for our Camp Logistics Committee to help accommodate you.

While driving yourself may be the easier option, our  parking is very limited at the campsite. We ask that you refrain from driving solo unless approved by Logistics committee. Parking space is not guaranteed and priority will go to those who are carpooling. If your situation requires you to drive solo, please reach out to out Camp Logistics committee at camplogistics@norcaluvsa.org to discuss further.

The Logistics Committee will communicate transportation via an official email. This email will contain the contact information of your driver/passengers, and their addresses. We ask that you keep an eye your email for communication from the Camp Logistics Committee.

Please notify the Logistics Committee of your situation ahead of time should you need to depart early or arrive late. Carpooling options may be limited but we will attempt to find a solution for you. Please contact the logistics committee at camplogistics@norcaluvsa.org if you have any questions.

Whether this is your first time camping in tents, or you’re a nature enthusiast, we ask that you minimize your baggage to help accommodate other passengers riding with you. Alternative options for sleeping gear include sleeping bags or inflatable sleeping pads. For clothing and baggage, please bring only the essentials needed for this 3-day, 2-night camping trip. If you don't have a tent, please fill out this form.

Please notify a staff member or Logistics Committee member your travel plans so that we are aware and provide accommodations if needed. We suggest that you fly into the following airports that are nearby to Camp this year:

  • SFO (San Francisco International Airport)
  • SJC (San Jose Mineta International Airport)
  • OAK (San Francisco Bay Oakland International Airport)
  • SMF (Sacramento International Airport)

Please contact the Logistics Committee or notify a Camp Horizon Staff Member Immediately regarding delays or assistance. For more critical emergencies, please call 9-1-1.

Transportation fees are not included in your registration. We encourage you to coordinate with your driver and car for any necessary expenses like gas, food, water, etc.
