Summit XVIII: Where the Current meets the Earth

Where the Current Meets the Earth is a love letter to the people who make Norcal UVSA feel like home. In Santa Cruz, where the ocean meets the redwoods, we are constantly reminded that growth happens through connection — between land and sea, past and present, older generations and those still finding their place.

This theme honors the villages that continue to shape us every day: the alumni who guide quietly, the families who built spaces for us to gather, the friends who inspire us to return, and the younger generation learning how to carry these stories forward. It is rooted in the idea that legacy is not something left behind, but something lived together.

YES IT IS!! At Summit, we have something called Family Programming, where you’ll be placed into a group with people from different schools to play games, bond, and grow closer together. We also offer professional development opportunities such as résumé-building sessions, coffee chats with alumni, and a variety of workshops.

A Family Leader is someone who guides your Summit experience and ensures that it is a safe, welcoming space for everyone

In the registration form, we ask a series of questions curated by the Family Programming Committee. They will do their best to pair you with the best FL and attendees who best fit your personality to ensure a great weekend!

We encourage all attendees to stay for the full duration of the conference to get the most out of the experience. Of course, if you feel unwell, you will be excused. Please note that leaving the conference to spend time with people outside the event is not permitted
